I'm posting this here because it seems to cover a few issues and not sure which forum to use
I recently upgraded Vista to Windows 7 and tried to run Dreamweaver 4 to no avail.
Then I contacted Adobe online only to be told that I needed a new version because the Suite 4 was too old and would not work on Windows 7. That was going to cost me an additional $399canadian.
Fortunately I didn't listen to them and instead I deleted Dreamweaver from my computer, reinstalled it from the disc, but this time using the "Compatibility' option.
Then I ran Dreamweaver using the 'Compatibility' choice (right click on Icon and choose 'Troubleshoot Compatibility'). Follow instructions then leave your machine for an hour and wait for things to update in your system. When you return you will, like me, find that Dreamweaver is opened and running fine... then save that compatibility fix.
Voila!!! Dreamweaver 4 works just fine thanks....
