What is a "manual registry"??
As has been said many times, no optimizers.
Period.
Full stop.
TBH windows disk clean-up is more than enough and Ccleaner is quiet acceptable for cleaning history etc. But i use it mostly for disabling some start programs which even msconfig can do :).
tune up sounds more like tune down to me
Think by manual registry he means to pick out what values he wants to delete that pop up in say ccleaner. I say if he wants to do that, that he should always make a backup of the registry which is what I do when I want to clean out junk from the registry just in case something goes wrong I could always reapply the values back.
To the op you can pick out what you want cleaned out but always make a backup of the registry just in case something goes wrong.
now i know optimizing windows 7 is not a very good idea thx for your help guys
Good decision too.
No registry cleaner is completely safe and the potential is ever present to cause more problems than they claim to fix.
THEREFORE
If you do not have knowledge of the registry, then you would probably be better off leaving it alone, and definitely not placing blind trust in a program to do the job for you.
It doesn't need much optimizing ningpra. There is nothing wrong with cleaning out unwanted temporary files with CCleaner just don't touch the registry.
Hi Ningpra..I use ccleaner though I don't do registry cleaning, I've never had issues, but I make habit of creating restore point just before cleaning
