Windows 7: core temp crash

core temp crash

Hi lads,
I am a bit confused. got laptop running Windows 7 64 bit. have installed core temp to monitor cpu temperature. installed fine, starts fine. switch computer off. next morning found that core temp software not on my hdd. i can see the folder where it was originally installed but program it self disappeared, *.exe file gone for some reason. installed again.... same story next morning. what to look at? where is problem? how program could delete it self? on desktop pc same prog runs fine.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit at home and Windows 7 professional at school.
 
 

Well I don't usually use such things as you can get gadgets off Microsoft's website that will do the same thing. But just use a gadget to watch CPU temp. More reliable and they won't disappear on you lol

Pavel,
Run WDO, Windows Defender Offline, Use the link in my signature.

When you run WDO, then WDO will automatically run a quick scan. When that finishes, then run a full scan of all of your drives.

This is not a quicky solution. a full WDO scan can easily take more than an hour.

This step is necessary since one of the causes of what you are seeing is a very nasty piece of malware that goes undetected by most anti-malware software. WDO has the advantage that it is an "offline" program run from a ram disk without booting your Win 7.

He's right this might be a malware or virus issue or though it's rare but what about a trojan? Never heard of them actually deleting anything this small though.
