it creates a full registry backup on the 1st boot of the day. i can see the files at the end of some horrendously long path. but have never been able to figure out a simple way of switching to the registry as backed up this morning.
can someone shed some light to this?
why on earth do the daily backups not show up on the "backup manager," that just shows up the per-program stuff of your recent uninstalls.
thanks - that's kind of what i recalled. but what i'd like is a situation where i can restore the registry from within Windows 7 - assuming that my system is still booting.
do we know if the batch file will run succesfully on a booted up system? i guess i could just try, but a bit afraid to render the system unbootable.
anybody have experience on this?
secondarily - if i just copy the registry files over to windows\system32\config while having mounted the HD onto another system, IGNORING the user account-related files - am i going to be able to boot?
Nope, in years of using ERUNT, always had backup images. Ghost for XP, and now Acronis (and Paragon) for Seven. Just easier to restore an image then restore the registry and hope it works. Not sure why I even still use ERUNT, just a habit, lol. A Guy
