    Hi,

In my case I have only this folder marked as hide C:\Users\%username%\AppData
Make sure that you have administrative privileges.

If you take ownership of Application Data, you should be able to gain access.

@rsvr85 - sorry, but that info is wrong

Application Data is not a folder of any sort - it is a virtual junction created for compatibility with older apps that are hard coded to look for "Application Data" as opposed to using the OS variable %AppData% - Environment variable - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you take ownership of it it is still a junction that points to ... %AppData%.

@Kukag (and anyone else with this issue) - the best way to get to it, as I mention, is to use AppData as opposed to Application Data.

Read that entire Wiki to get a better idea of Windows Environment Variables. A short table is at Environment variable - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was merely providing a suggestion. Information is what you have just given us all
As the thread had gone a while without any suggestions i thought i would try and help out, or should i not bother next time?

Looking back to the original post i realise now i was thinking of ProgramData (the other hidden one!)
My sincere apologies to you Mr. Galt. and of cousre to the OP, i shall keep my wrong suggestions to myself next time.

I have just got my computer.
    Installed w7
I don't understand, being the only user/owner how folders can be "not accessable. - Acsess is denied"

E.G. I get this trying to open "c:\Documents and Settings" and "Default User" etc....

    Please advise.
