Real Player(RP) 15 Fails to Install At 92%

Had RP14 installed, used the Player Update to get Version 15

Version 14 uninstalled, Version 15 started installing at approx a 88% an RP desktop icon (a box with a bow..a free RP gift !!) appeared, then at 92% everything just stopped, the Icon disappeared....nothing !!

Attempted reinstall from real.com numerous times with exactly the same affect !

Carried out RP Instuctions to set User Accounts to ON
Carried out RP instructions C/Progs/Real file delete, still no success
Did a Windows "Fix It" to rectify fault....no success
Temp files removed.....still no go.
Upon every download a new Real File appears in C/Progs......I removed the previous prior to each fresh download

Am now at a loss can anyone help pse

Look in C:\programdata\real and delete all, then try to reinstall.

Open windows explorer, from the drop down menu in ORGANIZE, select FOLDER & SEARCH OPTIONS.
IN the view tab select SHOW HIDDEN FILES & FOLDERS.
Now you can see the folder in question.

Not wanting to troll or bash (too much), but RealPlayer has always had issues with... well, everything. It is generally accepted as one of the most awful programs ever, either performance, compatibility, even certain capabilities compared to other similar programs.

Did you try restoring your system to a time prior to uninstalling RP14? If you can get your system back to that point, uninstall RP14 with the Revo Uninstaller Free (in Advanced mode) and delete all leftover files and registry items, then download the new version.

As mentioned, RP always seem to have one issue or another. Assuming you don't want to go with an alternative (Real alternative), then one thing that may work is to install from the computers administrator account.

Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

Disable the account again after using if you try this.

The idea was to use the hidden administrator account. This is different from your account being an administrator. I can't guarantee it will work, but it often will. You could try in safe mode, but often that will not work unless you use a work around to enable the windows installer. Also worth a try.
