Windows 7: Adobe CS6 creative design premium SE vs alternatives

Adobe CS6 creative design premium SE vs alternatives

After deciding that I don't need the master collection (student and teacher edition) since I could find alternatives to Premier Pro like avidemux and virtualdub, the core Adobe software I use are:
Acrobat Pro - all the time- OCR, comments, reviews, optimization pdfs
Photoshop - all the time- I use with Intuous3 and 4 all the time.
Dreamweaver - when I need to make/edit websites.

So far I qualify for the student and teacher edition which helps a lot as Adobe is too expansive. I also have MS Office 2010 Student edition which comes with the whole MS Office software.

I need Photoshop Extended to support DICOM/3D stack images in future and I don't think GIMP has that support. I've been using PS since version 5.0 that when I decided to try GIMP, I was not familiar with it at all. I use the intuos stylus all the time. I'm no artist, and use it more in an academic scenario and don't buy plugins. I use PS with for quick changes

Acrobat Pro:
I need something that can do OCR with search function, combine files, split files into various formats, reviews, comments, print as pdf function. Been using Pro 9 for a long time now.

Been using this since CS3 I think. I only use this occasionally for making and editing websites. When I do use this, I use it extensively but in small burst. Its not like you need to edit websites everyday. I think MS Office had a WYSIWYG editor in older versions. Can't find it in the MS Office 2010. Since I need to host my own sites and not rely on tumblr or gogole pages, I think this is the best solution. I am not a pro user of Dreamweaver compared to Acrobat and PS and willing to go to alternatives. The reason I used Dw in the past was for the php function since I had to design my own survey website which I could collect data immediately and not rely on something like survey monkey. I did try to use limesurvey but it was an early version and the feature I wanted were new additions in future.

Since buying the CS6 suite is just slightly more expansive than buying Acrobat Pro and PS individually, I thought it would be great as I get Dw as well. Is there an alternative version of the 3 CS software I mentioned above?
I think I may need to get PS as I don't see GIMP reaching PS levels anytime soon.

So it is just down to Acrobat Pro and Dw. Are there good on par alternatives to these or is it better for me to just get the CS6 design premium student edition as I need PS anyway?

Another question would be, is it possible to buy US market of Adobe student edition since its slightly cheaper than UK version?
