| windows 7 32bit 61 posts | Strange error message I bought a piece of software that required me to go to the companies website and download a "validation" file. The problem is every time I open up the file to validate it I get: "The operating system denied access to the specified file" I'm running in administrator mode, does anyone have suggestions on how to get around this? thanks |

| XP, Seven, 2008R2 1,557 posts | What is administrator mode? Disable UAC, reboot, validate the software, re-enable UAC, reboot or Enable the hidden Administrator account, login as Administrator and validate the software. |

| Windows 7 Ultimate x64 6,484 posts Milton Keynes, United Kingdom | It could be that any AntiVirus software you are running is blocking the file. Are you trying to 'Run' the file from download or are you 'Saving' to a location then trying to run? |
