    Java Applet Access Problem

I have no idea if this is the correct sub-forum for this question...

There's a brand new just out of the box 64 bit Windows 7 desktop PC that I set up for a friend who buys and sells used cars. The PC works beautifully, but he cannot connect to a live auction site that he frequents.

We have IE9 32 bit installed as well as the latest version of Firefox.

He uses a site called copart.com where he does a member login, then he clicks on a tab to get him to the auction page. From that page he can view all the copart auctions across the US. If he clicks on an auction that has not yet begun he gets a little applet box displays a countdown of the time till that auction starts. So far, so good.

But, if he clicks on an auction that has already begun, he gets a little Java logo that displays for a second or so in the applet box, followed by a msg 'connecting to server'. It never does. It just sits there. It does the same thing in both IE9 and Firefox.

I have used his login on several other PCs - from other Windows 7s to Vista to XP, and it works perfectly on all of them.

I went into Java, clicked on the Advanced tab, expanded the Java console and selected 'Show console'.

Here is what I get when I click on an auction that has already begun:
    Java Plug-in 10.5.1.255
Using JRE version 1.7.0_05-b06 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

I have no idea what it's trying to tell me. Or why it works on every other PC, including W7 64 bit running 32 bit IE9.

    Any thoughts?

I'm no Java expert. Could you try to just remove all the Java and download and reinstall from the Java site.

I'm certainly no Java expert either, but I appreciate your reply. By the time I read it I'd already uninstalled 1.7.0 JRE and installed 1.6.0.

Everything works perfectly since the rollback.
