Wait,

So you are trying to write CD/DVDs using Nero? To me this looks likes from the screenshots that it is using the default Windows program to transfer the items.

he may be referring to using different hardware (another physical dvd writing thing attached to your computer somehow)

or he may be referring to using different software, like say ImgBurn, which is a pretty good one.

there is a ton of other free programs the sevenforums community recommends here, and there are a lot of other free burning softwares.

Nero Burning Rom : UDF is the standard now?
Just wanted to clarify something, last week I was on Windows XP and was using Nero 8 to burn my discs. Most of my discs are just for storage purposes so I can get files off my HDD, I was burning No Multisession ISOs. Now since 8 isn't 'officially supported' by Windows 7 I thought I'd try Nero...

Anyone Use Nero Burning Rom 11 on Windows 7?
The reason I ask is because I was just going to install it on my computer but then stopped because the installer told me I need to install all this other stuff that is either outdated (Microsoft VC redist, going back to 2005) or irrelevant (Direct3D). I thought Direct3D is used for rendering...
