Usual method to associate files not working-trying so with LibreOffice

Hi

I did not choose the Microsoft Office forum because this is not a MS Office issue.

I want to associate files to libreOffice portable.
If I go to a document, Right-Click and then browse to the executable and choose that (for example libreofficeWrite.exe), Windows7 won't accept it because it does not show up in the following window.
If I go to: Control Panel -. Programs -> Default Programs -> Set Associations, go to the file extension [for ex. .doc] the same as above happens. The final window does not show the The LibreOffice Write executable previously chosen
and
If I go to: Control Panel -. Programs -> Default Programs -> Set Default Programs Writer is not there and if I choose WordPad (Microsoft Office is not installed on my PC) I can't do anything from here either. [There is nowhere on LibreOffice (Options settings for ex.) where I could sett file associations either.

Any suggestions?
