I would use Avast before Norton.
Search for and read posts on this forum, and look in the "Crashes and Debugging" sub-forum.
You may well have fewer problems with Avast (or MSE), and a more stable system with Avast or MSE.

It's your choice...
Amen to that! Avast! is free too, unlike Norton.

Norton is the best...if you compare is strictly to Mcafee. Norton leaves a lot to be desired in terms of performance. Norton is also one of the worst applications in the history of computers to uninstall.

The uninstallers are made by the companies themselves to remove their products. There's no harm in using them, and they are often the only way to remove AV software. Norton (and Symantec) have had several versions and revisions available to remove their bloated products.

Genericly true statement .But I beleive your bias towards nortons is based on much older builds as I stated above.
But we live i n a free north America . But on several occasions I remove such said software in safe mode and clean
The registry manually. Takes time but cleaned without dumping more software into it. And nortons can be removed within itself without going to download the uninstaller. A differant perspective is not to be feared if the original poster wants help just email

My opinions are based on research and actual experience. As IT Director, my job is to evaluate products and choose the ones best suited for my company's needs and budget. Norton's products had a higher memory usage and lower detection rate than other products on the market. They have improved, but they are far from the best. They fell far from the top of the mountain, and while they are trying to climb back up, they have a long way to go. If you read any of the usual comparison AV websites, you'll see where Norton really ranks.
