    Framework .Net nothing is installing

According to my my programs list I only have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. I have tried installing .NET Framework 4.0 but it won't let me.
I was trying to run the Six Updater arma II, and it asked me to download the microsoft 4.0 client, however it always says there is an error.
What Frameworks do I need, is there a process?
I have tried everything, what should I do
    Thanks

    Hi blairsingh

I am Sampad from Dell Social Media.

As per the information about .net framework and Windows versions go - Windows 7 comes with .Net framework 3.5, you can verify the same from the following link.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework

To help you better, I have 2 questions for you, so that we can find a fix for you.
    1) How did you figure out the existing verions of of .NET framework on your system?
    2) Please let me know what procedure are you following to install .NET framework 4.0 ?

    Thanks and regards,

    Hi Sampad

I have had problems recently with it .net Framework (updating reasons) as a result I removed it from 'add or remove programs ( I deleted them and have no .net frameworks in my system.)

The method I am using is Download: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Standalone Installer) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Confirm what version (if any) of .net you currently have

    dot net 4 problem

Have a look at the .NET Framework cleanup tool and the .NET Framework setup verification tool

Same problem here. I'm trying to get SixUpdater working and .NET 4.0 won't complete the installation. Does anyone have a solution to this?

    I think I fixed it.

What you do is go to your C drive and go to windows then Microsoft.Net. Rename the "assembly" folder to "assembly2"

and try it again Download: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Standalone Installer) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Yup, renaming assembly worked! Thank you so much. How'd you figure that out? I haven't found an answer for this on the entire internet.

I'm glad that worked for you!
Well it was a bit tricky at first to find the directory and once i found it I googled the problem.
I think the main problem with it not working was that the assembly file had corrupt files and couldn't read it, so once you 'renamed' it, it creates another file to install.
