    Having troube installing Silverlight

Running Windows 7 64 bit and thought that I may have uninstalled Silverlight and now I am having trouble re-installing it. Everything goes fine until I get the "Installation Failed" alert. I think the problem may be that the uninstall was not correctly done...

I'm guessing you've already double-checked control panel > programs and features to make sure Silverlight isn't still showing up there. If it's not there I'd try the Pro version of Revo Uninstaller (it has a free 30 day trial period.) Use the Forced Uninstall feature and it should get rid of all Silverlight remnants.

No Siverlight appears in Revo (not the pro); however this does show up
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Microsoft when Silverlight is searched in the file folder finder Everything. When truing to delete it, however, get the error message that it can't be found. When manually searching the directories, got as far as "config," with "systemprofile" missing...thus no pathway.

Followed your lead, marsmimar, and went to the recommended site and used the "fix problem" approach. Was told that the problem was fixed and SL was installed. However, when trying to view this site (Jensen Beach, Florida) on either Firefox 14 or IExplorer 9, got a black screen with recommendation to download SL...even though it was still located in Program File (x86).

Deleted SL with Revo and reinstalled, but still not working. When going to the site above, still get alert to install SL??? Interestingly, on that sites home page, when clicking Mobile, things work; but clicking desktop they don't.

I've got Silverlight on this machine with IE8 (an old XP laptop.) When I went to the Jensen Beach link I too got a black screen with a recommendation to install SL. Is it possible the site itself has an issue?

Thanks for testing it out. Could be that there is problem with the site, itself???

Here's another site (South Lake Worth Inlet Web Cam) that has seemed to change and not respond. That is, the site seems to ahve changed in that under each picture you could select a slide show of the previous hours by clciking on a link under the picture. But now, yo just have the picture and apparently no way of seeing the previous pictures...at least for me. Also, with the changing format, the pictures themselves seem to be better defined with richer colors. Pressing F5 does nothing.
