Confusing error when opening certain applications
Hello, I've been having the above error for a while now and it's extremely frustrating at this point. Odd little tidbit about it: every time I get this error, the second character changes while the "R" stays the same. It might be a number, or a letter, or sometimes it's garbled text that isn't anything! But it's always changing.
Anyway, for a bit of context:
Back in November, when I had first installed Windows 7 on a new computer, I had used the MotioninJoy drivers, which allowed me to use my PS3 controller to play games. DS3 Tool.exe, which managed those drivers, enabled me to use the analogue sticks on the controller. I had to keep booting up DS3 Tool to use the sticks, but it wasn't much of a big deal and it worked like a charm! I hadn't used the controller on my PC since April.
Last month, I attempted to use the controller again with DS3 Tool, but every time I started up the tool, I got that error! Nothing I would do would help the problem either. I tried running it as administrator and running it in Safe Mode! I checked for viruses using Microsoft Security Essentials, Malware Bytes and even Hitman Pro, but there was absolutely nothing to be found! I tried consulting their message boards for help, but I didn't get any responses. So, eventually, I just used a Logitech gamepad instead to play games with a controller.
However, I have just encountered this problem again, with a different application this time! I like to change the theme of my Windows 7 and that includes the explorer frame. I used an application called Windows Theme Installer to help change the frame and start orb if I wanted to. The last I have used this application was back in early June. So, today, I figured it was time for a change of pace and thus decided to change the theme again, but when I tried starting Windows Theme Installer, this error showed up again!
I again tried to scan for viruses, run as administrator and what have you, but like last time, I've found nothing! I tried to download a similar application, Ultimate Windows Customizer, but the error shows up with that too. At this point, I'm pretty annoyed and I have no clue on what else to do. I'd like to not have to reinstall Windows, so if anyone has any ideas on what I can do about this, I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
