Alternative to Nero

Good day to all,I'm looking for an alternative to Nero.My granddaughter is home from university and has a lot of data on cd & dvd disc which belong to the uni now she would like to make copies of these discs,We went to use Nero last night and only grief she had with it I know nero is okay but been a bit of a pain lately.
So to the point looking for an alternative to Nero so she can put one disc in one tray and a blank in another tray and a direct copy.Running windows 7.
Any help here please if there is a free on available that would be good but willing to buy one if its going to be good.
Thanks

The most commonly recommended app on this forum is probably Imgburn, a free download.

It will burn pretty much any kind of disk you care to make---data, music, duplicates of existing disks, etc.

Imgburn.com

As with any burning app, try to use high quality blank discs and a modest burning speed, say 8x or 12x.

Taiyo Yuden is most often recommended as the best disk manufacturer. They are not typically found in stores, but easily had on-line. A bit more expensive, but less prone to issues.

The guide on how to copy a disk with Imgburn is found in the forums at imgburn.com.

It's a 2 step operation: read, then write:

If you want a simple easy-to-use burner then try CDBurnerXP. http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home

It should suit your purpose of copying disks on the fly admirably.

I have Nero and don't have any problems with it. I started using Nero about 5 years ago after giving up on buggy Roxio. I primarily use the Nero BurningROM program and mostly audio discs, but I also do CD and DVD data discs.

I have Imgburn and CDBurnerXP installed as I have clients that use these. Both do the job.

I do not us RW media, it can be iffy. I use ink jet printable Taiyo Yuden CD-R's exclusively for audio CD's and burn at 8X. I used to do a lot of support on the Dell forums and we found Memorex discs to be the ones with the most problems.

I use ImgBurn and Windows 7 built in burn with no problems. You mentioned these things you are trying to copy belong to the university. They might be wright protected. Not for copying.
