    Network chat program

I'm looking to download a network chat program that boots when my computers are turned on. Nothing like msn or yahoo messenger just something for my local network.

Try skype...it's free and you can set it to run when windows start or turn it off and start it manually.

No not skype either. Just a small plain jane chat window. Like what banks or small corporations use to communicate with one another in their local network.

I believe this is what you are looking for .....

Download Simple Chat 1.24 Free - Simple Chat is a local network communication program that allows you to send and receive meassages - Softpedia

I used to use something similar some years ago while working in an office.

FWIW: I do not like a the automatic install of another downloader program that will replace what I already have. Evidently there is no method to download the simple chat without they installing a downloader/installer and replacing it on my computer.
