Good Question. No I don't think so but there might be a gadget you can get,
for the desktop.

Would you care to be a bit more specific .. an alarm clock .. low disc alarm .... squonksc alarm ??

An alarm? there is probably a way to schedule an event with win 7, but its so much easier to get a timer gadget. they count up, or down, and you can run multiple timers. Mr Grim here at SF has made some really nice gadgets in the customizations section.

all the gadgets you'll ever need.

the gadgets work just as well on ''7'', the only difference is the lac of a taskbar locking them in.... so you can position them wherever you like.
