yeah well just to assure you that its not just you, it has happened to me in Vista and XP too, having about 20 installations for clients, so I get to think this is random and you might have a better chance if you try downloading the software again and/or trying in a later time.
However, just in case, check your firewall settings or if necessary, disable it for a while and try again | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ENIAC OS Windows 7 RC 7100 32bit/64bit CPU Intel Core2Duo E4500 2.20 GHz Motherboard ASUS P5LD2-X/1333 Memory 2x1GB Kinsgston DDR2 800MHz Graphics Card Nvidia 8500GT Sound Card Onboard High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays Sony Bravia 42" Keyboard Some cheap one Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse something Case LINKW 2222 Cooling Standard Intel Internet Speed 24MBps ADSL |

I have read on a few forums that for some lifecam 3000 cameras are working and for some not, some have said to use the 2.04 drivers for vista. I have tried them and with 2.04 I get no camera error on the lifecam app with the windows 7 2.9 version I get initialization error. Any help fix workaround would be be greatly appreciated, Thanks! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Built By KrAzE OS Windows 7 X64 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz, 2666 Mhz Motherboard Asus (forgot model) nForce 780i 3-Way SLI Memory 8 Gigs DD2 800 MHZ Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ X2 SLI Sound Card Creative X-FI Monitor(s) Displays 21 Inch LCD Flat Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard G 15 Mouse G5 PSU 1200 watt Case Ultra Cooling Ultra ChillTec Thermo Electric Cpu Cooler Hard Drives C:\OS 70 Gig raptor 10,000 RPM

It's probably server errors at Microsoft. I downloaded and installed them without incident last week. Try saving them to a folder or your desktop first, then right-click/Properties and unblock, then try the installation. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Alienware® ALX X58 OS Vista Ult SP2/Win 7 Ult SP1/Win 8 Pro w/MC/x64/XP SP3 x86 in VM CPU Intel® Core™ i7-975 Extreme O/C to 4.02 GHz, 8MB Cache Motherboard Asus® P6T Deluxe V2 X58 LGA1366 Memory 12GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 6 x 2048MB Graphics Card 1792 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 295/Hauppauge HVR2250 TV Tuner Sound Card Onboard Soundmax® High-Definition 7.1 Performance Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung XL2370 LED backlit 23" W/S 2ms response time Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080 Keyboard Microsoft® Wireless Entertainment 8000 + Logitech® G15 Wired Mouse Microsoft® Wireless Laser 8000 + Logitech® G9 Wired PSU Alienware® 1200 Watt Multi-GPU Case Alienware® P2 ALX Chassis with AlienIce™ 3.0 Video Cooling Cooling Alienware® High-Perf. I guess you did a "Repair Install" by doing that. Did you have to install a whole bunch of updates afterwards?
I wonder if doing an sfc /scannow would have achieved the same thing? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Alienware® ALX X58 OS Vista Ult SP2/Win 7 Ult SP1/Win 8 Pro w/MC/x64/XP SP3 x86 in VM CPU Intel® Core™ i7-975 Extreme O/C to 4.02 GHz, 8MB Cache Motherboard Asus® P6T Deluxe V2 X58 LGA1366 Memory 12GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 6 x 2048MB Graphics Card 1792 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 295/Hauppauge HVR2250 TV Tuner Sound Card Onboard Soundmax® High-Definition 7.1 Performance Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung XL2370 LED backlit 23" W/S 2ms response time Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080 Keyboard Microsoft® Wireless Entertainment 8000 + Logitech® G15 Wired Mouse Microsoft® Wireless Laser 8000 + Logitech® G9 Wired PSU Alienware® 1200 Watt Multi-GPU Case Alienware® P2 ALX Chassis with AlienIce™ 3.0 Video Cooling Cooling Alienware® High-Perf.
