SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

When I do the sfc /scannow I get a small black screen just flash on my screen and nothing seem to happen. Thanks

Sounds like you didn't run as admin,

Sounds like you didn't run as admin,

Elevated Command Prompt

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator

Now do the sfc /scannow

yes, I typed it in the search box under the start button. Maybe I need to do the cmd>right click cmd.exe in the search box?

Done the Elevated Command Prompt and it didn't find anything wrong. I did have a black screen tho that progrested thru a scan. When my computer would restart there would be a window that wanted me to log on and click OK. It said Program family, jucheck.exe and verified publisher Oracle America. On the third start I put in my password and it opened Java wanting to update. When I clicked on ok the updated failed. Any sujestions? Thanks

jucheck.exe is Java, are you able to update java if you go to java.com: Java + You and update from there?
