    Spotify app

Now the threads for this are fairly old and I notice that it has been put on a fix a I did for a friend and the machine crashed last night for some unknown reason and I am wondering because I do not really like or trust anything P2P if this app is safe?

Have got Comodo Premium on the machine which on the whole does an excellent job but I am just wary of this one.

Well for me...doing a quick google search...It seems reputable enough from the site itself. Then digging further I see that is distributes "digital restricted" streaming media. That says it all for me right there.

Thanks bassfisher have just read through that Wiki article and yep I wouldn't have it on my machine but I know this friend is right into country music and maybe her partner too and use it on those portable (irritatingly tinny) devices.

So can only tell her what has been found out the decision is hers in the end.

My digging was limited to different forums I hadn't given Wiki a thought - thanks as I usually make it first port of call.:)

I use it occasionally - the free version - for searching and listening to stuff which I sometimes buy through Spotify - 320 kB so fine with me unlike Amazon. I often go on to buy CDs instead though. I've bought dozens of tracks through Spotify (often not available on CD) and not had any major problems nor have I had any it seems with the occasional updates. Generally can't fault it apart from some gaps in spread of music (understandable) - it does cover a wide range of genres though. I haven't used any other comparable system though.
