    Adobe CS3 in 64-bit Ultimate

Will the entire Adobe CS3 suite work on the 64-bit Ultimate version of Windows 7? Is there a list somewhere of compatable and incompatible software for the 64-bit version?

According to the posters HERE it does.

EDIT: It's confirmed working on 7, but don't know about x64. You can always try for nothing.

Okay. Let's be more specific. Does anyone who has already purchased and is using CS3 know if it works on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit?

For the sake of wasting 6 hours trying to find out, would it not be easier just to try and install it.

I guess I am still too subtle I do not HAVE Win 7, 64-bit, nor do I know anybody who does. I am wondering whether to get the 64 or the 32 bit version. If Adobe CS3 does not work in the 64-bit verison, I would seriously consider going 32-bit, since this is a critical application for a fleet of out computers. So I was just asking if someone had given it a serious try and what their experience was.

I have had no issues running on Windows 7 ultimate x64 up to and including RC.

    CS3 works pretty decently overall.

Photoshop works mostly fine, InDesign works well except for when you export stuff, if you let the program lose focus it will seem as though the program has stopped responding (though it hasn't, you just won't be able to watch the progress bars.)

Illustrator works halfway well. You have to set the XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode in illustrator so that it will work correctly and allow you to import links into illustrator files correctly. This will kill Aero, unfortunately.

I installed Illustrator CS3 on my new Windows 7 64X (Home Premium) machine today. It told me that it installed completely. I have all the programs in their directories and it appears complete....but it will not run. When I click any of the programs that installed with it, like Bridge or Illustrator, the cursor thingy (what do we call that thing?) spins for about 10 seconds then nothing.

I tried reinstalling. I tried running in various compatability modes (XP sp2, XP sp3, Vista sp2) but no luck. Interestingly, Illustrator appears as a running program in Task Manager, but nothing opens.

I saw a post from someone else on another board that had this exact same issue. They were also running a machine with the AMD Phenom II processor. Not sure if that means anything.

I sure would like to get a solution for this. I think I may try downloading a trial of CS4 to see if that runs.

CS4 is working for me - at least Photoshop, DW and InDesiqn are.
