Media Player 12 - Media Streaming Issue Hi guys and Gals,
I've been really happy with Windows 7 thus far, except for the only thing that isn't currently working.
Media Streaming via Media Player 12.
Every single time I click OK, regardless of settings, it crashes explorer.

do you actually expect that to fix an issue in Windows 7? Instead of being a smart ass, point him to an updated version then. Just google it like I did. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Microsoft Windows 7 Professional X64 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 965 @ 3.20GHz Motherboard Intel DX58SO Memory Kingston 3x2 GB (DDR3 1600 MHzς) Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT [x2 (SLI Technology)] Sound Card RealteK High Definition Audio (On Board) Monitor(s) Displays SyncMaster 245BW (Digital) Screen Resolution 1920X1200 Pixels Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3000 Ergonomics Keyboard Mouse Ergonomics Keyboard and Optical Mouse Combo PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad 750W PSU Case Antec Sonata Elite Cooling Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Retail Hard Drives ST3500410AS ATA Device (465.76GB)

At what point did you assume my ass was smarter than yours?
I simply pointed out a fact.
You suggested a product from January 2003 will fix an issue in a 2009 OS release.
I have my doubts that this is a proper solution even if I have no suggestion to offer myself. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Selfbuilt OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU i7 2600k Motherboard asus P8Z68-V LE Memory 16GB (4x4) corsair vengeance Graphics Card Intel HD3000 iGPU / AMD HD6870 1024MB Sound Card bitstreamed to an Onkyo 609 Monitor(s) Displays Asus VE278 27" LED / Bravia EX7 60" LED Screen Resolution native 1080p x2 Keyboard Dell Mouse logitech m505 PSU 650w Antec Case NZXT tempest evo Cooling air/stock Hard Drives 4x 2TB int. + 2x 2TB external and a SSD for the boot drive. Lol.. thanks for posting this guys.. I didn't feel like shooting down the only post.. but I also felt that a old codec pack for Windows 7 isn't really something I want to try..
@ Adrian>>Will try the Shark007 thing in a bit and see..
Can someone, who is running Windows 7, maybe do me a favour please?
If you have some time, open Media Player for me, then click the "Stream" tab at the top left, then click "Turn on Media Streaming" then try and enable it, or just click "OK" and see what happens.
Mine just crashes explorer, but I don't know if it's just mine, or a general Media Player 12 issue.
Thanks. | My System Specs | | OS Win7 7600 CPU AMD64 FX60 Motherboard Nforce4 Memory Corsair 2x1GB Platinum DDR400 Graphics Card HD2600XT Sound Card Realtek AC97 / Creative SB Live! 5.1 doesn't work in Win7. . Well I followed up on your question and switched Media player on to stream and I had to eneble it to play within my home group, and the only issue that I spotted was that I'm seeing a playback error and need to update my driver for my sound card.
