Get error when I try to install iTunes

When I attempt to install iTunes I get the error depicted on the attached.
I called Apple Support and was, finally, able to talk to a human. After leaving the phone to talk to his supervisor he came back with this non solution." Because it looks like a problem with the OS I should contact MS for a solution. We only deal with Apple products".
I am reluctant to contact MS because I am out of warranty. Can anybody help?

Blockie do you have any Apple apps or services installed now in Control Panel>Programs and Features? I'd uninstall them all first to see if it will install.

First be sure to disable any Apple in msconfig>Startup or msconfig>Services (after hiding all MS Services). That alone might allow install.

Next I re-download the installer to see if it's corrupted.

I only scratched the surface of the google results for the error message so you might want to go more in depth to avoid a possible reinstall since that is what some had to do. Sometimes a thorny issue like this will take hours or methodical research making sure not to miss a single result.

If you do reinstall be sure to stick with the methods and tools given in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to avoid corruption like this.
