Take Ownership Regedit for EXE/LNK files

There are alot of you who know about the Take Ownership Regedit tweak that is available for Vista and Windows 7. However, some users are using the Take Ownership regedit that is unable to Take Ownership on EXE and LNK files. I have seen a couple thread about it.

I have created a modified Regedit that will allow you to add the Take Ownership context menu item for EXE/LNK files.

THIS IF FOR THOS THAT HAVE THE EXISTING TAKE OWNERSHIP REGEDIT. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT, I SUGGEST THIS THAT WILL ADD IT ALONG WITH THE REST OF IT:

Add Take Ownership Option in File / Folder Context Menu in Windows Vista and 7 - Tweaking with Vishal

Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Hi,

Thank you very much, but this doesn't work for me.

I had the "take ownership" already, and I added your .reg file.

It added a "take ownership" to my .exe file, but when I use this it opens the file instead of giving the ownership.

I used this on Magnify.exe, and it opens the magnifier instead of giving the ownership.

I want to delete magnify.exe and replace it by a clean version. Because this one has a problem and closes itself everytime, as for the clean one it works great.

Thanks.

I found this solution -> How to Delete a System File in Windows 7 or Vista - How-To Geek

And it worked perfectly, I was able to delete the Magnify.exe file.

But it didn't solve my problem. This is strange, my clean Magnify.exe file doesn't work good when it's on system32 folder, but when I put it on my desktop it works great.

I don't understand why
