Windows 7: Would Installing DirectX 9c

Would Installing Directx 9c cause my Windows 7 to break as I have seen this on google that is DirectX 9c causing people problems when they have DirectX 11 installed, I too have DirectX 11 installed but when I go to update Nero 10 it downloads the updates fine but I get a fatal installation error message. I am just wondering if it is because I don't have DirectX 9c installed, as I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it's just the same. Any ideas welcome Thank you in advance

No, it should be fine if you install both. I've done so and haven't any problem related to that so far, but don't really know if installing the older version adds anything to the newer, theoretically version 11 should contain everything from 9, plus improvements.
Just in case, create a restore point beforehand if in doubt, so you can revert if find something bad.

Yes You would think so I was onto Nero support and they said it has to be DirectX 9c but didn't say why. I am just scared it messes up my new Hard Drive Alejandro because a restore point would be of no use. Also could you give me a link to where you installed DirectX 9c from Alejandro. Why would you install DirectX 9? All the necessary files are already pre-installed in Windows 7, and whenever a game needs specific DX files to be installed, they get installed when installing the game.

According to Nero you have to install DirectX 9c for some reason they won't say why though mate. Oh and I am glad you mentioned games as I have just realised they did not install, niether did the 100mb partition and that was 2 installs I did.

There will be no problem installing DirectX 9. DirectX11 is not DirectX9. See numbers 5 and 6 here:

Thanks A Guy which 1 do you recommend I install is the Microsoft one DirectX 9c ? As I don't understand it being a web installer and doesn't say 9c, sorry for all the questions

All the links I posted are to the same version, the latest 9c. The Microsoft one is a very small original download, that then connects to the web to do the total download. the other 2 are the full, large downloads which you can then install offline, or copy to a usb to take to another pc, etc. If you have a fast internet connection, it won't matter much which you choose. If you have a slow connection, the Microsoft web installer is probably best.
