    Keriver Image 4.1 - Free Today

    September 22, 2009

    Make an exact backup of your hard disk for restoration in the event of a system failure with the Keriver Image.

    As a backup program for disaster recovery, Keriver Image is simple and efficient. If your disk or partition is no longer accessible due to corruption of the disk’s file system or operating system, and you previously created a disk image or partition image file, you can use that image file to restore the entire disk or partition. If the disk is physically damaged, you can use the image file to restore the entire disk.

    As a backup program for file recovery, Keriver Image is quick and to the point. If you lose a file which does not have a backup, your previously created disk or partition image can be used with Keriver Image Explorer to extract just the file you need from within the image file.

    Main Features:

    - Supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Win7;
    - Backup on Windows and From the recovery CD;
    - Restore from the Recovery CD;
    - Extract files from image file on Windows;
    - Support Backup to and Restore from USB disk;
    - Move or Resize partition when Restoring disk.

    I am trying today's gotd offering. Keriver Image 41.

    Doesn't work for me.

    It won't recognize the drive at all.

    Same on Vista SP2 x64 and 7 x64.

    Anybody able to get it to work?

    I downloaded and installed it and it works good for me so far. I haven't done a restore yet but the backup worked fine.

    How did you get it to work?

    unzip the d/l, run setup.exe - the Keriver installer appears - it installs( doesn't ask for a reboot ).

    Rt click and run as admin on the shortcut - put the license in the top bit - where it says product id - click register online-this window opens:

    CLick Next

    Completely bizarre. Nothing unusual about my system - never had an app. unable to see the HD before.

    Tried reinstalling, running in Compat - installing on Vista x64 .

    Still - it cannot see the drive.

    Sent a message to Keriver to support 8hrs ago - no response yet.

    Sadly, no response from Keriver.

    That is very poor.

    The problem is during installation it does not ask for a restart - just skips straight to the FINISH page. Doesn't even attempt to install the necessary drivers.

    No support

    I think one of the conditions of all of the GAOTD stuff is that there is no support.

    LOL - if the developer is trying to get his app. better known- especially a smaller company - they should pay attention the results of what ( for him ) is a very important promotion.

    Even Paragon - who are pretty big - read the comments on GOTD and responded , as well as providing a special link.

    That is just common sense- they don't gurantee to respond to every post - but they keep an eye on it and choose to respond to help out and show they have an interest in any issues with their app.

    Otherwise it is atrocious marketing that is likely to backfire.

    That is entirely different from the "support" you pay for as part of the price of the software.

    Of course , it could be he hasn't been able to get around to it yet - I sent a mail directly describing the issue - if you read the comments on the site - some others found problems with the app. recognizing the drives.

    OK - I take it all back .

    Keriver didn't like the fact I was running 2 active partitions on the same HD.

    Switched back to one active and the app. lists the drives as it should.

    That is quite curious as it never asked for a restart , and presumably didn't install it's own drivers. Will have a go at imaging later and see if/how it performs.
