Key finder with registration and versioning information

For windows 7 i am using a simple key finder, called, simply, windows 7 key finder
Windows 7 Product Key Finder - Find Windows 7 Product Key
For win 8 i cannot find anything beside this: 8keyfinder.com ( 8 Key Finder )
but i am not sure, my AV does not find anything, scanned with totalav and its 46 antivirus and it seems clean, but my win 8 keeps deleting it after showing the smartfilter warning,
    questions:
    1) is it a problem with smartscreenfilter and, if so, HOW do i de-activate the smartscreen?
    2) do you think is safe?
a friend of mine tried it and told me it works great but i do not want to get my computers dirty right away, please advise

Your product key should be on a sticker located on your computer or on a laptop it might be in the battery compartment. Have you located that COA sticker? If so no program will be needed.
    Just to refresh your memory.

i do not have a sticker, i know the Certificate of Authenticity has got the key printed on it somewhere but i installed the OS through the developer network and i wanted to install another copy on my laptop hence why i lack of a CoA sticker.
    thanks anyway
PS: btw do you know how to turn the smartscreen off?

If MSDN or Technet you can just log in and retrieve your key that way. Also depending on which level of subscription, you can request more keys.

In IE9 do this to turn Smart Screen off. In the upper right of the browser window, right click an icon and Customize. In the resulting dialog scrool to Smart Screen and select (click) it and then the add button. Close it. Click the Smart Screen icon for options and to be able to turn it off.

I got this when I tried to download the Win8 Key finder.
File does not exist. Make sure you specified correct file name.

I think there is something wrong at the download link for 8 key finder, I just tried to download it and I got a "File does not exist"

Are you talking about MSDNAA, through your school?

I haven't had a keyfinder yet that would actually give me the key from my MSDNAA (Dreamspark) OS'es, have you checked your account section?

They have a history of what you've downloaded and the product keys.

wow, is it that hard to turn off the smartscreen?
nope, not through school, i just followed the instructions on a website that suggested to create a dev profile to get a free win 8 key. but microsoft websites and firefox do not like each other, it seems impossible to store a saved password from a ms page and i can't remember what i used, the pwd etc. so i hoped a key finder could be a quick solution.
i am gonna try the smartscreen procedure
    thanks a lot
