Windows 7 Corrupted Pre-Installed on Laptop.

Okay, I'm not sure where to put this and I'm not sure what exactly my question is.

I got a Dell Inspiron N5050, Three weeks of use I started having allot of problems, I restored to factory, three weeks later, same problems came back but Five Times worse.

I thought it was a thousand different things and I've found out now that.

My issue is a Pre-Installed Corrupted version of Windows 7.

My Warranty only covers hardware, Dell refuses to do anything as it's Software.
[[Aka: We're scamming you and want you to pay us 80 bucks to take a look at it and then another 50 for a new Version of Windows]]

Is there anything I can do, short of buying a new version of windows?

I've checked for problems with hardware and software, it says there's none, I've tried anti-viruses[Mcafee], Spybot, System Mechanic, Malwarebytes, and all the windows and dell options, every time, everything comes up clean...

So I've no idea why I keep getting a Black Screen, why I sometimes Blue Screen, and why after a Black Screen soemtimes it knocks my screen res down very low, or sometimes forces my laptop to zoom in 300%, When it black screens it disconnects my webcam, it sometimes disables my ability to connect to Web Pages, sometimes it disabled my internet, so I am dumbfounded, and after all that, I was told it was a Corrupted Version of Windows.

So what can I do? Cause I'm about 10 minutes away from walking into Dells Offices, throwing the Laptop at whoever I can find and burning their building to the ground.

It's certainly possible that the original Dell installation of Windows 7 was damaged or corrupted in some way. And that would probably mean the recovery version of Windows 7 could also be damaged or corrupt. But what I'm not clear on is why your computer would work fine for three weeks and then suddenly not work. To me that would seem to indicate that all software and all hardware are working as they should for the first three weeks. So I have to ask - is something going on in the third week that might be contributing to these problems?

To try to rule out any problems with Windows 7 itself, I would suggest a repair install using a known good copy of whatever version of Windows 7 was provided on your machine. You'll also need the 25-digit Product Key to reactivate your Windows 7 with Microsoft.

    Repair Install

A repair install should allow you to fix your currently installed Windows 7 (if in fact it's a software problem) and preserve your user accounts, data, programs, system drivers, etc. You can obtain a free, legal copy of Windows 7 from Digital River (an official Microsoft download site.) Download the ISO file to your desktop and then burn it to a DVD using the slowest burn speed you can. A lot of folks recommend using the free ImgBurn and burn at no more than 4x speed.

If three weeks later you experience the same problems, I would suspect it's not a Windows 7 issue. An additional guide prepared by one of the Forum experts.

Have you made the recovery disks for your DELL laptop?

Did you restore with the recovery partition or the recovery media?

As marsmimar has pointed out if everything worked fine as it should for three weeks, it will be hard to blame Windows for it. It could get corrupted but in all probability with what you did during this period.

My advice at this point would be to restore it to factory condition again and get it working.

No tweaking software of any kind and no McAfee on any count. If your system installs McAfee, immediately remove it using MCPR How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR) and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

Install any software in a phased manner, all the time keeping a log to track whether a particular software creates problems.

Now do not walk into the DELL office and lose your temper :). By policy DELL has been sending the reinstall DVDs - that will enable you to do a clean install at the sametime preserving the OEM activation - on request within the warranty period free of cost. Send an email to the DELL HQ of your region requesting for the Reinstallation media giving full particulars of your machine including the Service tag number for them to verify the records.

The black screen issue may be bad/overheating hardware. does the machine shutdown with a black screen? Dell is responsible for the OS too since it is an OEM install, someone is giving you the rub.

They are decent about giving a free OS install DVD, I have got one in the past for XP. If you get one, it should install with no key needed.

Okay, I'll try all this out and let you know how it goes in three weeks.

And DELL said they won't send out an Installation Disc as they don't do that "anymore" for certain versions of their Laptops, instead they have that System Image Restore Recovery thing. Dell DataSafe Local Backup I think?

I was on the phone with them when they told me all this, and that they won't do anything to help if it's Software related.

Was this an Irish or US purchased laptop? Region makes a difference although I think it's nuts.
Maybe you can just send it back since they won't support it.
