Windows 7: Anybody Using MS SyncToy Program ?

Hello,



For anyone using the MS SyncToy program.

Sure does look like it does a lot of things, but hard for me to figure out.

a. I would like to determine the duplicate photos I may have in a single Folder.
b. Also, duplicate photos that might be in two (or more) Folders.

Pretty sure that this program will do it, but not 100% sure.

If it will, might someone please show me how to for (a) and (b) above ?

I'm not sure SyncToy is what you need. SyncToy simply syncs up "folder pairs", typically your working folder and a backup folder on another device. If you have duplicate photos in the same folder, they obviously have different names, and SyncToy will simply treat them as two different files.

I'm sure there is a program that will help you to do what you want to do, but I don't know what it is. But I don't think it's SyncToy. It's really a rather simple program, but quite good at what it does - I use it regularly.

Glary Utilities is another multi-tool utility which you can use to find any kind of duplicate files. ( Once you install, I am sure you will use it for various other purposes too.)
