Problems and questions with iTunes 11

I recently updated to iTunes version 11. Here are some things I noticed.

1. Where is the slide bar on the right side of the screen? It seems to come and go. I don't see a pattern to it. Does anyone know what happened? I have a very large database and without that slide bar, there is no way to get to the bottom.

2. Until now iTunes always displayed the total number of songs in the database at the bottom of the screen. It disappeared.

3. I was removing duplicates by testing which ones existed and which ones didn't. I deleted the missing items from the database. Then I moved 'My Music' to an external disk. Now everything that shows up as a duplicate is missing.

What has Apple done to this great program?

Does anyone have solutions to any of these problems?

Addendum: I found the slide bar. It appears when you maximize the screen.

I also found the total at the bottom of the screen but maximize and restore down does not work unless this is a virus with my system.

I keep finding more situations. Since I relocated 'My Music' almost everything is missing except the songs in the playlists. (Almost but not everything). 96gb was transferred but iTunes only sees 74gb. Also I just closed iTunes and when I attempted to start it again, it says the .itl library file is locked unless I run as administrator or restart the computer.

I give up. My iTunes library is divided into several parts, the major sections being 'iTunes Music' and 'iTunes Media'. Nothing from 'iTunes Music' was included in the database so I added the folder. Now there are over 7000 duplicates. I plan on removing everything from the database and starting it from scratch. It is now totally corrupted.

How can I delete the contents of the iTunes database without deleting the songs stored on the disk so that I can re-add them again into a clean iTunes file? Can I uninstall iTunes, install it again and then add the 'My Music' folder?
