    WeatherBug won't completely install.

I got a new desktop pc last aug. I installed WeatherBug on it as I have been using that program for years. Well it quit working about 2 months ago. Since then I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall at least 6 times. Uninstall seems to work well. Downloading the install program from WeatherBug.com seems to go well.
Problem is: the install program seems to run appropriately, allowing personal preferences to be selected, but when the "finished" button is selected the flipping hourglass cursor functions for about 3 seconds then NOTHING. WeatherBug is listed in the start menu and "all programs"; but the same nothingness occurs when I select it from these 2 locations. Also, the only WB icon on the desktop is for the Install program.
I'm using AVG Free Antivirus and the windows firewall. I can't seem to find whatever is blocking the fuctioning of WeatherBug.
    What am I missing??

    Welcome
Sounds like the old install is not completely removed. Uninstall what you have now. Then download the free ccleaner to remove any remaining remnants, boot and try to install, again.

    WeatherBug won't install

    Richard,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it has not solved the problem. Might I be missing something in the windows firewall or the AVG program? I have poked around and looked for blocked items, but that doesn't mean that I didn't miss something.
    Thanks!

Your situation is not unique, it is usually the result of an incomplete uninstall.
Try to install, again. If it still does not work, use the free version of Revo, to uninstall. Then boot and try again.

There are also better options that work much better (seamlessly in fact) with Win7 including the weather gadget for the desktop available by rightclicking a blank area of the desktop for Gadgets. The Calendar and Sticky Notes also are very popular and give perfect performance.

Also AVG bloated up about 7 years ago and never slimmed back down so it's never been recommended by anyone here. I would replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials.

In addition to Rich's suggestions you can also try to System Restore to before you uninstalled the buggy weather crapware then uninstall it with the suggested Revo in advanced mode: Revo Uninstaller - How toTo Completely Uninstall Programs

    Rich & Greg,
Thanks for the input. I have used the CCleaner, uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed without success. Then tried the revo program (at your suggestion), rebooted,re-installed, and still have the same (original) problem. I'm done with messing around with WB. What I did enjoy about that service, as a deer hunter, was the wind direction with the 24 hour forecast.
So, next question; "What are your favorite weather programs?" The weather gadget is too vague for my taste.
