It apparently means that you have a driver that needs to be updated.

Just out of curiosity, where were you able you downloadWindows 7 7600?

Any idea which driver I might be needing to update as Driver Max informs me I have latest drivers for all hardware??

I am a technet member and got it through there :)

You'll have to look at your video drivers. Do you have Microsoft Silverlight installed? Also, make sure that your firewall and Antivirus program will allow the update. Sometimes Windows Defender can't find it's own left hand looking at it's right hand (might try disabling it through Services)

    Re Windows Updates

Yes I have Microsoft Silverlight installed I have included a screenshot showing it was successful. I am using microsoft security essentials and it does not appear to be blocking anything that I can see. Also I am using the latest NVIDIA driver for my graphics card.

Ok on further investigation I went to control panel and checked for installation of Silverlight in order to uninstall it the re-intall only to find it is not listed even though when I try to install it I get an error telling me it is already installed and to uninstall it then try again. how can I uninstall a program that is not showing up in the control panel uninstall programs list?

Problem solved. I used regedit to delete EVERY trace of silverlight then re-installed it and the update was then successful. I have no idea why it all happened as it did but seems to be solved for now. Thanks for all your help.
