Hey RonBin79, are you saying that you want to install Google as your default search engine in your browser?

If yes, which browser are you using?

If you mean this thing it appears to be discontinued, so Google in its infinite wisdom may have auto-uninstalled it without asking permission. I'd say good riddance, as Windows's own search engine is capable enough, if you index the whole drives.

Can you check that it is still installed from Programs And Features (type "programs and features" in the Start menu searchbox)

Othwerwise write Intexing Options and add the whole drives to the indexing so that Windows's own search works on the whole drives.

    Google

Please see the attached. I have never got on with Google chrome and stayed away from it as we prefer to use the old one as shown in the attachment. I installed SuperAntiSpy this morning and I think that took it off my desk top.

All I want to do is make the Google icon as shown on my desktop work again. I am using IE8 with windows 7 home premium.

    cheers,

    Check this.

    Delete old link first.

To place a link to Google on your desktop, first visit Google

Right-click anywhere on the webpage and select Create Shortcut. Click the Yes button in the confirmation window.

I hope this solves your issue.
