I don't want to debate the merits (or lack thereof) of using an IP blocking app in this thread.

I just wanted to let those who like and use (or used to use) Peerguardian know that development has started up again and that there now is a new version of the program available (free), which is called "Peerblock."

Peerblock is based on the original PG code and Peerblock looks just like Peerguardian (and uses the same lists), except it is being actively developed (with frequent application updates) and, most importantly, it has signed drivers. It is completely compatible with W7 x64 without any workarounds required. In short, for those who like Peerguardian, this is a long overdue dream come true.

(Btw, the latest interim release is completely stable on my W7 x64 rig.)

I notice that I get a lot more attacks when using Frostwire as compared to using utorrent with this utility. I have not experienced any bugs yet with 1.0.

does anyone experience these problems? (attacks) thats pretty bad no?

does anyone else have any experience with this program? is it as reliable in blocking as PG?

I started using Peerblock after installing Win 7 Pro x64. Used to use PeerGuardian on XP.

No issues so far, highly recommended.

after installing peerblock, i dont see the "default list" for government, i only see P2P, Spyware, Advertising, and Education. Is the government list combined with P2P?
