EndNote X6:Unknown error & MS C++ runtime error when closing word 2007
My laptop is a Dell Vostro Core i5 with 4GB ram and it's running on Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1, 32bit. I installed MS Word 2007 with license and then installed EndNote X6, as instructed in order to use it. When I try to close Word after inserting a citation from EndNote first it gives me the following error.
An unknown error has occurred.
I'm given the option only to press OK and when I do that, the following message appears.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE
- pure virtual function call
Again I'm only given the option to press OK, once its clicked, everything close down, my changes are saved sometimes, but whenever I try to remove an inserted citation later on, the Word gets stuck. Please help me, I tried recovering the laptop twice by factory image and installing everything fresh, still the error is there. My Acer laptop running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit does not give this error. I even tried downgrading EndNote to X3 and 11, still it appears. Please help me if you can, I have done everything I could find on the Internet for the past 4 months. Thanks a lot.
