    How do I get rid of remnants of the Map-it toolbar?


    I have done all the normal things to disable/uninstall the mapit toolbar but it still shows up in Internet Explorer 9 sometimes -such as when I'm on Facebook and my bank's home page. It doesn't work so I can't click on anything in it...it's just taking up space that I need. What do I have to do to get rid of all the remnants of this annoying toolbar?

    I think that did it...thanks for the help. I had already run 2 different 'cleaners' but they didn't do the job. I will hang on to this one.

    I'm happy your happy. We got lots of tricks here. I recommend before trying little programs ask here first. Many might do more harm than good.

I notice in Firefox 9.0.1 on both a laptop and a desktop that closing Firefox leaves remnant stuff (see photo) above the taskbar. The remnants appear after opening and then closing the bookmarks list. Pressing WindowsKey-D to redraw the desktop clears it. Nevertheless is this a Windows 7 issue...
