    Can't install Unetbootin

I'm running Windows 7 pro sp1. I'm trying to install Unetbootin. I can download it just fine. When I left click on the download (in Firefox) it opens Unetbootin immediately instead of going through the installation process. Sometimes I'll get a pop up box stating that the program wasn't properly installed. I click on install it properly and have the same results. When I shut down Unetbootin disappears because it isn't installed on my computer. I've downloaded many other programs with no problems. I've also tried other download sites and mirrors. No change. I'm wondering if it is a problem with my security. I have Microsoft Security Essentials. Thank You for your time.

I just downloaded it at UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads and it does not install it is a standalone .exe basically meaning it is portable. Where do you have your Firefox set to download to, that would be where you would probably find it at.

I sent it to documents. I didn't realize it was portable. I installed a shortcut on the desktop and now it works as if it were installed. Thank you for the useful information.

Is Bit torrent also portable? How do you tell before you download something if it is permanent or portable?

You're welcome, I have never used Bit torrent so I do not know if this portable or not, the only way to know if a program is portable or not should be listed on the website some are probably not when you double-click on the program .exe if it opens up then it is portable if it starts to install it it is not.
