    Run-time error

    I have a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 64bit.
Some 2 years ago I installed a Family Tree Program and have been using it on a regular basis until this week. Now when I try to open the Program I receive the following message:
    " Run-time error '339'
Component 'ComDlg32' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
Is this another Windows Update problem or is there some way to fix this?

You can try re-registering the comdlg32.ocx with these commands from an Elevated (Run as administrator) command prompt.
    regsvr32 /u Comdlg32.ocx
    regsvr32 /i Comdlg32.ocx

Tried these commands and received the following:
"The module "Comdlg32.ocx" failed to load.
Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent. DLL files.
The specified module could not be found."
    Means nothing to me. THANKS.

In Win 7 64 Bit I have these files:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comdlg32.dll
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\COMDLG32.OCX

Do you have these files on your PC?

If you have a restore point from before the problem started you can see if a System Restore will fix the issue.

You can run a System File Check to make sure you don't have System Issues.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
You may need to run this up to 3 times with a reboot after each scan.

I found this article that has a fix you could try.
    Register comdlg32.ocx on x64 Win7 | Developer OneNote
If you use this, I would scan the file for malware, and submit it to VirusTotal for scanning.
