    Can't install Streets and Trips

I've been trying unsuccessfully to reinstall MS Streets and Trips 2011 to my PC in the specs. It installed to my wife's without a hitch.
I manually downloaded the C++ noted here:

When I click to install this comes up:
    Can't install Streets and Trips-wait.jpg

    Then this:

    Can't install Streets and Trips-exit.jpg

According to Installed updates I already have the C++ installed:

Can anyone think what I'm doing wrong?

Does Streets and Trips create a log file with any error info that might help?

If not, one trick I use when I run into something like this:
    - Search "C:" for *.log files and sort by DateTime descending
    - Look through any log files created or updated around the time of the problem

There may even be entries in the WindowsUpdate.log file with info about this error.

MS is pretty good about logging info imho...
The problem can be finding and understanding it...

Maybe it's an issue with NetFramework ?

Many times doing a System Restore back to BEFORE the first attempt to install a product will give you a clean start and then it will install.

After you downloaded Street and Trips did you check Windows Updates?

Well, now I can't do a restore point, it fails with a 80070005 error. Jack (LB) I did the requested update during the install attempt as in my snips. I tried it again after the failed attempt and nothing new came up. I have the software on a DVD.

Have you tried to install it with "run as administrator"? If not, give that a try.

Doing a Google for 80070005 it seems this error is often caused by a permissions problem.
If "Run as administrator" doesn't help, do you log in with an Administrator account?
If you can't restore from a Restore Point, do you have a recent System Backup Image you can restore?
