I've recently upgraded from Vista to 7 and discovered that Spotify won't run. It throws the error "Unable to initialize the storage of temporary files" and then aborts. I think this is an error message from the program rather than the OS but even so it might be a clue as to what's going wrong.
I've tried reinstalling the current version and the latest one from their website and both installers fail with the error quoted above.
Someone has suggested that this might be an OS problem to do with read/write permissions to certain folders so I have checked this. Looking at permissions for the C:\ drive I see that System and Administrators have full permissions but Authenticated Users and Users don't (and if I try to change this I get a warning that it's not safe to do so).
I can't get an answer on the Spotify forum so does anyone here have any idea about this, please?
