    An annoying app

I heave just recently replaced my hard drive and had to reinstall everything I even ran the Gigabyte mobo software disk through the machine.

Now I have this extremely annoying Zynga game icon on the desktop and taskbar on boot and I cannot find anywhere it is listed to get rid of it as quick Google is telling me that it is related to Facebook -something that I DO NOT want on my machine.

Anybody tell me where to find this wretched thing - I am assuming that I downloaded it with the Gigabyte software?

    Hmmmmm

Sorry Boobah been there already mate and no sign of it or it's parent company in there or in All programs.

Did a "search" and nothing comes up so the little buggas hiding somewhere perhaps it uses an http:// "no www. address means something. I reckon it's been bundled with the Gigabyte stuff.

    Also, try Msconfig.
If you find it there, you should see the program location and registry.

    1. Go to the program location and see if there is an uninstaller. Try to uninstall it from there.
    2. Go to the registry location and delete the string.
    3. Disable startup in Msconfig.

I'd try No. 1, first and do the other two if No. 1 doesn't work.

On my sisters XP machine I uninstalled SmartView for IE in Add and Remove Programs, to remove the Zynga Games crapware?

Edit: You may also need to check your IE add-ons (I can't remember either way)?

Download & run Autoruns this will show all start-up items on your system including browser add-ons / helpers you can disable any you need too and once proven, rogue apps can be deleted from start-up perminently

You'll definitely have to remove the program- just can't recall if there was an add-on part also.
