    "Folder" does not appear in the dialog list when selecting "New"

    I am running Windows 7 in 32 bit mode. When I go to create a folder in documents or on the desktop I right click and select "New". This opens a dialog list of functions. Everything is there but "Folder". What am I missing? Is there a Windows update missing? Is this normal for Windows 7???? There is a box at the top of the Documents page that says New Folder. When I select this box nothing happens?????? Where do New Folders go????

    The menu you are talking to is called the "Shell Context Menu", there is not a built in windows feature to change the contents of this Menu as it is generated from the registry.

    go to NirSoft - freeware utilities: password recovery, system utilities, desktop utilities and get "ShellMenuView" and/or "ShellExView" which provides a simple interface for viewing and editing entries on this menu. The tools do not need to be installed, you just run them!

    Or try this:

    Go to regedit and navigate to:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New\

    The value for the
    (Default) key should be

    {D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}

    If not, change it or if it's not there at all - create it.
