Is their a serial # any place on the motherboard.
On my Asus board it is in the middle of the board to the far right. It is very small white sticker. Mine matches Belarc.

That is really strange.

I'll contact Asus by phone and see what their answer is.

Thanks again for your help.

Loved your answer for the edit

Unfortunately, the serial number is under the CPU cooler on my board where I can't see it.

It is curious two different 3rd party applications use the same "placeholder" as their own application. I've asked if others with my MOBO get the same results.

I called Asus today and got that same answer.
When I told him that the serial no. is shown in Asus Suite, but it's wrong, he had no clue.
He checked and came back and said "the serial no. in system info in the Suite is the Chipset serial no. (although he didn't know why it didn't say that wasn't the MOBO no.)

All, in all, pretty much a waste of time - courteous, though.

The query I made on their user forum has reached a similar dead end. Thanks for telling us the result of your phone call. It still seems rather odd that they would park a number that wasn't the serial number of the MOBO in the place where software, including theirs, looks for the MOBO serial number.

I'll have to dig out the box again and take a picture of the label that has the "real" serial number so I'll have a record of it.
