ok. i fixed those and rebooted. the network still takes a while. i actually counted this time its about 1min 10sec just waiting for that network connection.

Lets run malwarebytes to see if we are clean .

Run Malwarebytes Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

When the installation is done uncheck Enable free trial of Malwarebytes (see image below )

Update the definitions and do a full scan

Let me know if it found any Objects . You could click on Show Results button and copy and paste the results onto here .

well, i already have malwarebytes and had it configured not to show me a log at the end, but i'm working on getting that for you.

i've run the scan twice and it came up with nothing.

Did you uninstall MSE ?

If you didn't let's run RevoUninstaller to remove MSE

Download Link :ar:

Please download and install Revo Uninstaller Free
Double click Revo Uninstaller to run it.
From the list of programs double click on The Program to remove
When prompted if you want to uninstall click Yes.
Be sure the Advanced option is selected then click Next.
The program will run, If prompted again click Yes
when the built-in uninstaller is finished click on Next.
Once the program has searched for leftovers click Next.
Check/tick the bolded items only on the list then click Delete
when prompted click on Yes and then on next.
put a check on any folders that are found and select delete
when prompted select yes then on next
Once done click Finish.

Just to see if MSE is causing the issue .

revo uninstaller was not showing MSE on its list of programs even in advanced mode. so i uninstalled it from the control panel and the same thing still happens on startup with the network connection.

i'm wondering, what i reverted the lan driver to the earlier version available on asus' website?

We could try that . Uninstall the Driver first before you install the Asus driver

yea that didnt work. i even rebooted after uninstalling the driver from the device manager, but when the computer came back on, same thing happened. on top of that, after that delay, it re-installed a driver for the network adapter on its own. so i removed that and installed the current driver again.

i've attached the malwarebytes log.

i can't get a picture of the icon while its doing what it is doing because the computer almost locks up. no programs will open, the snipping tool won't open, nothing happens until the network connects. once it does however, all the programs i tried to open, open up all at once seemingly. while i was trying to take a snip of the network icon a moment ago, the computer BSOD'd and restarted. when it restarted, it went to the windows logon screen and automatically logged on like i have it set up to do, but then it just showed a black screen for about, i'd guess 30-45 seconds. then the computer booted up to the desktop.

what is normally happening is, the computer will boot to the desktop, then when the icon i attached a picture of appears, it has a blue circle over it for about a minute straight where, like i mentioned, no other programs will open and i basically can't use anything on the computer until the network connection is established.

i'm attaching the crash file if you are interested.

usbfilter.sys - Belongs to your AMD chipset. Update your CHIPSET driver

AiChargerPlus.sys - Belongs to your Asus Charger Driver . Uninstall that program.

how do i get the RKreport.txt file? when it finished, all it did was create a RK_Quarantine folder on the desktop with some files in it, non of which were RKreport.txt
