Windows 7: Defragger

Defragger

I just built a new PC and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I am in the process of getting all the updates now.

For I have always used Smart Defrag for my 32 bit systems and it works fine. Smart Defrag is supposed to work on a 64 bit system also. The one thing I don't like about Smart Defrag is that it installs some additional software (that I tell it not to) that is really spyware and NO matter what I do I can NOT get rid of it.

Gregrocker is one of the best experts at SF and recommends Puran Defrag in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

I've used Auslogics (free) and never had problems with it or any additional software installed.

I only use the built in Windows defrag now.

I decided to install Smart Defrag and I did avoid it installing the spyware. It works great.

What is the best FREE Defragger?
Forever I've been using a combo of defraggler, and smartdefrag. I think Defraggler does a good job, but it is seriously lacking in its inability to shut down after a completed defrag.. What is everyone personal favorite one? I really want some concrete answers. Thanks

Contig, a command-line utility that enables you to defrag individual files, now supports defragmentation of NTFS metadata files, including the MFT. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897428.aspx
