Windows 7: Alternative to PowerDesk Pro's Dialog Helper?

Alternative to PowerDesk Pro's Dialog Helper?

I've used PowerDesk Pro v5 for years on XP, primarily for its "dialog helper." The v5 dialog helper doesn't work on Windows 7. If anyone has tried v7, I'd appreciate knowing if Dialog Helper works on Windows 7.

But, since the only feature of PowerDesk Pro that I really use is Dialog Helper, I wonder if there are alternative products that work on Windows 7?

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

While it's not exactly the same, it's the same concept:

Filebox Extender

It's now open sourced so perhaps someone can take the released source code and improve on it...

Directfolders is great (even better than Dialog Helper):
Direct Folders - quick access to your favorite folders

If you also install UltraExplorer (even better than PowerDesk):
Ultra Explorer

It's free!
It works under Win 7

Just wanted to say thanks, this post is still useful months later! I'm in basically the same situation as Guy, moving to Windows 7 and moving from PowerDesk to DirectoryOpus, but not wanting to lose Dialog Helper. Direct Folders looks like it should do the job, and it works with DirectoryOpus.

BTW, there is a new version of PowerDesk (v. 8) that works under Windows 7. But I've grown tired of PD's flakiness; it hasn't been maintained well in recent years, and that's why I'm going to try D.Opus (at twice the price!).
