Problems with Visual C++ and DirectX installers.
Every time I try to install an application that requires MS Visual C++ or DirectX I get this kind of window popup during installation:
(don't mind the executable name)
If I click "browse" it opens up the file browser in some random temp directory with vcredist_x64.exe or the DirectX installer. Opening the exe in that folder just brings up the above window again. Pressing cancel usually continues the installation process. I have both VC++ and DX installed so the apps work fine afterwards.
I just tried to install Photoshop and I got that popup again. I pressed cancel and the installer finished with errors. I checked the install log and it said that VCRedist.exe exited with error code 1603.
I have no idea what is causing this issue and what to do about it. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Managed to fix the issue with Microsoft Fixit tool. Just run the tool, and uninstall any troublesome applications with it.
