The older version of Shockwave player may not have uninstalled (I've had it happen in the past). Just follow the path to the older version, find the offending .exe file, and delete it.

I'll have to get cracking on that and let everyone know how I made out.

I just got back from secunia's forums and found this from a week ago, there is no direct link, 9th post down or next to last from the bottom: Secunia

Steve, press the + sign next to the older version to see it's path. Likely it is still there and you will have to remove it manually. A Guy

Deleting it manually is what I eventually had to do.

Its location was in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed along with two other folders in there; Director, and Flash. I left them and deleted the Shockwave10 Folder.

I had been getting a "Shockwave has stopped working" pop-up warning while using FireFox22 (FF22). I haven't seen it since I deleted that folder. Knock on wood.

Flash used to leave things behind that had to be deleted manually too. They seemed to have fixed that. A Guy
