Windows Live Essentials Has Stopped Working

My computer is a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, I recently have been using Windows Live Movie Maker and a few weeks ago, Windows Live Essentials stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times but yet it still hasn't worked. I restarted my computer but it just doesn't do the trick.

Can someone please tell me what is happening and what do I do to get it working again?
Please someone reply as fast as possible.

Welcome to Seven Forums Computergirl. When you say "a few weeks ago, Windows Live Essentials stopped working", what do you mean specifically? We need more info. You are trying to do what, and get what error, etc.

You might try this tool which will reset all the Registry and other settings of Microsoft Security Essentials to default value

    Thanks for replying A Guy.

Well, I guess from the day I posted the thread, around 14-21 days before that I tried to open up Windows Live Movie Maker (a windows live essentials program). I waited for few seconds and then it came up with a message saying "Windows Live Essentials has stopped working", then there was a message saying that it was looking for a solution to the problem. After that, another message comes up saying "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I waited for quite a while then, after that I tried to open it again and it still didn't work.

I am trying to fix this problem and I also want to find out what is causing Windows live essentials to stop working. I have searched for a solution but they didn't seem to be what I was looking for.

I will try that program, I will get back to you on it.

Getting back to you on the program link you sent me.
I opened the file and I have extracted it from the compressed files, but it hasn't worked. It comes up with a message saying "Error.
Microsoft Security Essentials is not found on system"

Anyways, it wasn't a Windows Live Essentials program was it?
    Thanks for trying to help.

My apologies, I saw Microsoft Security Essentials, not Live

I'd see if you can't uninstall and reinstall the latest version

How to remove and reinstall Windows Live Essentials
